    COVID vaccination in Mexico is an ongoing immunization campaign against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes coronavirus disease (COVID), in response to the ongoing pandemic in the country.

    Wealthy Mexicans were reported to travel to the neighbouring United States for receiving their vaccinations.[3] In March, the White House announced that four million of doses of COVID vaccines manufactured in the United States will be sent to Mexico.[4][5]

    In a survey conducted in March , 52% of the Mexicans said that they were willing to get vaccinated against COVID, 20% said they were not sure and 28% said they would not get vaccinated.[6]

    During this morning's press conference led by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard gave an update on Mexico's COVID vaccine supply strategy. He reported that Mexico recently reached a grand total of 70 million doses since the beginning of the pandemic, with 80 million doses expected by August.  

    The Foreign Secretary said that Mexico had received more than six million doses of various COVID vaccines for two consecutive weeks. To put that in perspective, the doses received since the beginning of July alone could vaccinate the entire adult population of the State of Mexico and Mexico City, the two most populated areas in the country.
